Worldline has launched a new full-service payment solution dedicated to the EV Charging market.

The company said its EV Charging Payments Suite, which was unveiled in Germany this week, will be made available to charging network providers and e-vehicle drivers throughout Europe.

The solution is designed as a modular end-to-end solution to meet the specific needs of infrastructure owners, charging station manufacturers, charge point operators and mobility service providers, the company said. This is complemented by cross-border payment options such as international and national debit cards, credit cards, e-commerce payment options and mobile payments such as Apple Pay or Google Pay.

“With EV Charging Payments Suite, Worldline is taking the e-mobility payment landscape to the next level, by making payment processing extremely easy for all industry professionals and EV drivers alike,” said Radu-Vasile Pop, Global Head of Self-Service Verticals, Parking & EV Charging at Worldline.

He added: “Charging providers will particularly benefit from the flexible integration options and best- in-class support. With its user-friendly interface and effortless and intuitive charging process, it is appealing to drivers and has been specifically built to help EVC merchants turn payments into an asset to enhance their customer journeys”.

With more than 695,000 new EVs registered in the EU, during the last trimester of 2022, a 30% increase in comparison with the year before, the EV Charging sector is one of the fastest growing industries across Europe.

Wordline added that a key benefit of the payments system is its time-to-market, as it comes with minimal installation effort, user-friendly terminals and simple cloud integration.

Additional features are specifically tailored to the charging process, such as pre-authorisation, incremental authorisation and online reversal. Early providers’ traditional chargers are supported as well the most recent super-fast chargers, Worldline said.
