Scan and Go technology specialist, MishiPay is set to roll out its operations in Saudi Arabia as part of a new partnership with women’s wear brand Bloomingwear.
The brand, which had been using MishiPay’s technology in its flagship store in Jeddah, will begin deploying the solution in all its stores in Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dammam in the coming weeks.
With the scan and go technology, shoppers can walk into retail stores, simply pick up a product they want to buy, scan the barcode with their phone and then pay with the phone before walking out.
The firm also recently expanded its product line to cover 100% of the store transactions which now also includes a tablet based self-checkout kiosk.
Mustafa Khanwala, Founder and CEO of MishiPay, said: “The beauty of our technology is that it is valuable to both shops and shoppers. We have created a process that is seamless and frictionless for customers, and we are delighted that the outstanding commercial results and positive shopper feedback has powered the next phase in the deployment at reputed stores in the UAE and KSA.
According to MishiPay, the technology increases average basket value by 35% while it eliminates long checkout queues and frees up time for shop floor staff to take up other duties. In addition to the latest partnership, it is being used with a range of retailers in the UK, Europe and the US.
