Mercedes-Benz Financial has partnered with Maybank to launch its first-ever credit card. The Mercedes-Benz metal card is said to be the first if its kind in the Malaysian automotive industry and will target the luxury lifestyle segment beyond automotive services. It will rely on Visa as its exclusive payment network.
In a statement, Anamika Talwar, Managing Director of Mercedes-Benz Services Malaysia said, “We are excited to launch our first credit card product with Maybank and Visa to offer an exclusive branded metal credit card that complements the luxury brand experience for our customers. The Mercedes-Benz Card is designed to enrich the experience of card holders who are lifestyle enthusiasts. Our customers can now have the prized 3 pointed Star, not only in their garage, but also in their wallet.”
The Mercedes-Benz card will allow customers to earn accelerated points on selected purchases at any Mercedes-Benz Autohaus nationwide when payment is made using the card. Cardholders will be entitled to a range of discounts including a 10% reduction on Mercedes-Benz parts, official merchandise, and accessories in addition to accumulating 10x TreatsPoints with every RM1 spent per visit.
The company said that other key benefits will include rewards such as 3% cash back on petrol spend (capped at RM50 a month) as well as luxury dining and lifestyle concessions.
The launch of the co-branded credit card follows the news, last month, that Mercedes-Benz is rolling out in-car payments for its customers. in Germany. Application for the card is open to those with a minimum annual income of RM100,000, the company said.
