Radius Networks has integrated its Flybuy Pickup service with Olo, an open SaaS platform, to provide restaurants with enhanced location-based data for its orders.

The Flybuy Pickup and Olo Expo solution enables Olo Expo to display multiple location events such as accurate arrival time (ETA), pre-arrival notifications and arrival notifications on its dashboard.

The new features are said to enhance the staff’s visibility into the customer’s journey to the store allowing for precise preparation time of orders based on exact arrival times.

The companies said in a statement that the solution has already been deployed at a fast-casual Asian restaurant chain called Teriyaki Madness, which has 115 locations globally.

“We are excited to roll out Flybuy starting with our Denver locations,” said Jodi Boyce, Chief Marketing Officer at Teriyaki Madness.

“Through Flybuy’s advanced technology, we will give guests an experience that’s faster than a drive thru. And, with the integration between Flybuy and Olo Expo, which our shops already use, the training and adoption process has been extremely seamless.”

Restaurants can sometimes suffer from “tablet fatigue” due to the proliferation of separate tablets for each technology vendor they use. This could include each delivery service provider, kitchen display or pickup solution. According to the statement, the deal significantly reduces this burden by eliminating any operational change for staff.

Flybuy Pickup for curbside, delivery, and in-store pickup is part of several services offered by the Flybuy Saas platform including Flybuy Pay, Flybuy Drive-Thru, and Flybuy Tableside for dine-in experiences.

Olo and Flybuy, which already serve up to 35 brands through shared partnerships have also integrated to automate Olo manual fire orders based on customer location. For example, the new capability can activate manual orders based on customer location, so the order is fired when the customer is ‘x’ minutes away.

“These innovations help optimise staff operations and automate the kitchen process based on the true arrival times of customers. This results in better quality, freshness of food, reduced throwaways, and happier customers,” Dan Estrada, Chief Strategy Officer at Radius Networks, added.
