Tappy Technologies is bringing its payment wearables to Curve customers across the EU and UK as part of a new partnership between the two companies.

The deal allows watch and jewelerry brand partners to offer Tappy-enabled payment wearables to users of the financial app across 31 countries, Tappy said in a statement. Those looking to turn their wearable into a mobile payment carrier can do so by downloading the app and then linking their Curve digital wallet to their existing bank accounts, debit or credit cards. They then tokenise and provision it into the wearable through Tappy Pay.

Shachar Bialick, CEO and Founder of Curve, said the company was excited to give users greater control over their existing cards by turning their wallet into wearable technology.

“Curve has always been about convenience for customers whether that’s with a physical card, on a phone, a smartwatch or any other type of wearable. Our work with Tappy will help us bring Curve to people across the globe who are on-the-go and already using wearable technology every day, furthering our mission to simplify and unify the way ourcustomers spend, budget and earn rewards,” he said.

Wayne Leung, CEO and Founder of Tappy, added, “We are thrilled to announce the launch of our Wearable Token Services Platform in partnership with Curve, which is available throughout Europe and the UK. This collaboration is poised to provide significant benefits to our partner brands, empowering them to extend their payment wearable offerings to a vast customer base throughout the region.”

The deal follows another partnership that was announced last month, under which, Curve is bringing Digiseq’s passive wearable payment technology to the European market. This allows passive items without a battery such as a ring or bracelet can be inserted with a chip and transformed into a contactless payment device. It is expected that the innovation will drive drive contactless transaction volumes for banks, payment service providers and other businesses as it does not depend on battery life to function.
