Worldline has launched Mobility Payments Suite, an end-to-end solution that is aiming to make payments more seamless for mobility operators and their customers.

The platform has been developed to support payment capabilities for multi-modal journeys whilst bringing together different providers into a single ecosystem, the company said.

The new solution incorporates payment acceptance through a dedicated gateway at every point and channel of sale including face to face over the counter, via a ticket vending machine, or online via mobile or web.

It also builds on Worldline’s advanced fraud management capability, which uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to both protect consumers and providers. Additionally, commercial acquiring means transactions to the bank accounts of potentially multiple providers in the mobility ecosystem can be securely managed.

Sebastien Givry, Head of Mobility, Merchant Services at Worldline, said: “Worldline’s role as a payment service provider is to facilitate and simplify all customers’ journeys, and quite simply to make travel seamless through payments. Customers expect the best and most efficient payment means to be accepted at the time they make their purchase or journey.”

With cities looking to reduce the impact of travel on the global climate, making the payment process easier is seen a key way in which transport providers and authorities can encourage a greater shift from private to public transport. Similarly, Worldline also recently launched its new payment system dedicated to the EV Charging market, a sector that is one of the fastest growing industries across Europe.

Givry added: “Out of our ambition to combine innovation and CSR, Worldline is committed to providing high-quality payment services to support the fast-changing mobility sector. With our Mobility Payments Suite, we are delighted to offer mobility operators and their customers the latest, most seamless and secure solution available on the market today.”
