Swedish fintech, Zimpler has named Stefan Andersson as its Chief Product Officer, in a newly created role that will focus on expansions in Europe and Latin America.

Andersson, who will take up the role on 20 March 2023, joins with 14 years of experience in the payments industry at companies such as Swedbank, Loomis, and most recently Volvo Financial Services, where he worked as Director of Global Digital Payments.

As part of this role, he was responsible for establishing Volvo Pay, a solution designed to help consumers pay for their Volvo vehicle and related services.

Linked to the payments industry from an early age, Andersson tested, certified and deployed the first chip reading payment terminals in Sweden 2006, the S3000 and the Xenta.

On his appointment, he said: “I have been working with payments my whole professional career, and now I am very excited to join Zimpler, a fintech company that is growing so fast and quickly becoming a significant player in the industry. I believe A2A payments, which skyrocketed in recent years, have extreme potential on a global scale,”

Johan Strand, CEO at Zimpler, added that Andersson will help the firm in building and delivering user-centric products and services that meet market demands.

“Innovation is at the core of Zimpler, and we constantly work on developing new products and features, most recently launching the B2B payments and Paylink solution. Stefan, with his diverse background, will help drive our growth agenda and adaptation for A2A in multiple segments and use cases,” he said.
