In a move set to accelerate the digital products market, Stripe has acquired Lemon Squeezy, a platform designed to simplify global digital product sales.
The acquisition marks a significant milestone for both companies, promising enhanced services for Lemon Squeezy’s customers. In an official blog post, Lemon Squeezy said the integration is aiming to bolster billing support and improve the merchant of record offering for a more intutive customer experience.
Founded in 2020, Lemon Squeezy aims to make selling digital products more effortless. To date, a key focus for the company has been addressing challenges such as tax headaches, fraud prevention, and license key management.
The company formed initially as an idea to solve the day-to-day problems of selling digital products but has since evolved into something much bigger, surpassing $1M in ARR nine months after its public launch, the firm said. Lemon Squeezy has a longstanding relationship with Stripe, having processed payments on the platform since its inception.
