Skroutz Last Mile has completed the installation of one thousand Swipbox Infinity lockers in Athens to cater to Greek online consumers who are looking for an alternative to home delivery.
The company started the project in March, initially installing 100 lockers to improve parcel delivery efficiency but also enable couriers to benefit from consolidated deliveries such as reducing the number of stops.
“With the Infinity locker, we don’t have to choose between quality of service and efficiency. We can deliver both,” said Stefanos Katsimpas, Business Director at Skroutz Last Mile.
He added: “Things move fast in the world of online shopping, and we need to be adaptable. That’s why we went with the Infinity parcel lockers, which can be installed anywhere in just 10 minutes, allowing us to scale our network when needed. It doesn’t get more flexible than that.”
The lockers, which are named Skroutz Point, can be found in a wide variety of locations in two different colours: orange and black. The latter colour was requested so the lockers could blend into their surroundings. Skroutz Last Mile said it is now ready to begin the rollout of the solution to other cities in Greece.
SwipBox CCO Kasper Cort, added: ”It’s been an extremely exciting and educational process for us to work with a partner that owns the whole customer journey from e-commerce to parcel delivery. We were excited to see how our lockers would fare in Greece, which is such a different market from the Nordics. What we’ve seen so far is impressive. In fact, with 1,000 lockers installed in one year and with 8 out of 10 customers who have used the locker continuing to do so, the numbers speak for themselves.”
