German startup Sizekick has unveiled a new AI sizing tool tailored for fashion e-commerce platforms. The company’s debut customers include names like Swiss sustainable fashion store Rrrevolve, premium outdoor brand Black Diamond from the USA, and global German-rooted brand Marc Cain operating in the premium sector.
The solution is the latest AI-based sizing tool to hit the market following a similar launch by online fashion platform, Zalando last month. This tool is also aiming to improve the online shopping experience, benefitting both brands and shoppers by incorporating personalised body measurements to recommend the perfect clothing size.
The AI-powered technology presents users with two distinct options for precise size guidance. The first, known as BodyFinder, proposes a range of realistic body shapes to select from. Alternatively, the video-based BodyScanner feature allows users to perform a quick body scan using their smartphone by turning around in front of the phone’s camera.
Hohenstein, a company with over 75 years of experience in the textile industry, supported Sidekick in finding a solution that combines accurate body measurements with the right product attributes. The Sizekick fit analysisis said to not only aid brand product teams but also serve as direct input for the Sizekick AI system.
“Partnering with Hohenstein has enabled us to tap into extensive knowledge accumulated over years in the apparel technology domain, resulting in a remarkably precise and user-friendly solution,” Sizekick’s co-founders and CEOs, Jake Lydon and David Oldeen said.
