Shopify has announced it is expanding its AI-powered tools with a raft of new updates as part of its Summer ’24 Edition.
Among the changes, the platform said it is extending AI image editing to everywhere in the user’s admin where images are used, like the Online Store Editor and Email Editor. It is also expanding it to the Shopify mobile app so users can make professional image edits on the go.
Since rolling out AI image generation in its Media Editor tool six months ago, merchants have saved over 1 million AI-generated images to their storefronts, the company said.
Other new updates include and AI-powered product creation tool called Magic and AI-enabled commerce assistant called Sidekick. With Magic, merchants can instantly get personalised recommendations for all product categories minimising listing errors so customers can easily find them in their online store.
Sidekick, meanwhile is in the early stages of its rollout, having been designed to offer context, guidance, and insights so merchants can make better decisions and resolve tasks more easily.
Shopify is also aiming to make selling in person as easy as selling online. Through new POS features, merchants can offer one-tap digital receipts while there is now the ability to automatically detect whether a product can be returned.
