Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has announced it is expanding its Direct Remit Service to the UK as part of a collaboration with Standard Chartered Bank.

The strategic move means users of the QIB Mobile App will have access to real time money transfer to the UK using its Direct Remit service while transactions can be tracked at any time and from anywhere. Users will also receive instant updates on the status of their transactions via SMS, the bank said. The expansion follows previous launches in India, Pakistan, Jordan, the Philippines and Egypt.

As well as having full control over accounts, cards and transactions, the app allows QIB users to open a new account and instantly get personal financing and credit cards. It has been made available on the App Store, Google Play, and Huawei AppGallery,allows customers to self-register using their active ATM/Debit Card number and PIN.

Speaking on the announcement, Mr. D. Anand, QIB’s General Manager – Personal Banking Group said, “Incorporating the United Kingdom into our Direct Remit services via the QIB Mobile App is a testament to our commitment to delivering a seamless, secure, and efficient banking experience for all our customers. We are dedicated to solidifying our position as a leader in digital banking through continuous innovation and a customer-centric approach.”
