PrestaShop, a specialist in e-commerce solutions, has teamed up with Mastercard to offer Click to Pay to consumers across Europe.

Merchants based in France, Spain, Italy, and the United Kingdom who utilise the PrestaShop platform will be the first to have access to integrate Click to Pay with plans for the feature to be rolled out to extended European and international markets at a later date.

Click to Pay enables consumers to use their payment cards without the need to manually enter their card details or remember a password. All payment information is securely centralszed in a single profile, facilitating easier management of payment methods.

In addition to reducing cart abandonment but the solution also enhances transaction security through “tokenization.” In the context of payments, this is where sensitive card details are transfomred into a non-sensitive set of characters known as a “token.” Under the process, personal information is never exposed during transactions.
