Just Eat has teamed up with British supermarket chain, Iceland Foods to provide “rapid” grocery delivery from the store’s locations across the UK via the Just Eat app.

The partnership will initially launch with more than 200 Iceland sites by the end of April in locations including London, Manchester, Belfast and Leeds with plans to roll out to more cities across 2023.

Users of the Just Eat app will have access to everyday essentials as well as a variety of fresh and frozen produce, including Iceland’s own branded products while home delivery can be expected within 30 minutes, the company’s announced in a statement.

“Our partnership with Iceland is another big step in our grocery delivery journey in the UK, bringing even more convenient grocery options to our customers. Iceland is a brand that champions local communities with stores on high streets across the whole UK and we’re excited to partner with them to deliver groceries to meet the demands of even more households looking for fast, convenient grocery options,” said Amy Heather, Director of Strategic Accounts at Just Eat.

The deal adds to the growing list of delivery partnerships in the UK as the market for home delivery continues to heat up. Last month, the food delivery app announced an agreement with another UK grocery-giant, Sainsburys, to roll out delivery across more than 175 stores. In addition, its platforms globally already include partnerships with brands such as GETIR, ASDA, Co-op, Carrefour, Spar, Shell and 7-Eleven.

Justin Addison, International and Wholesale Director at Iceland Foods, added: “We are excited to be partnering with Just Eat, enabling us to expand our offering with instant delivery at the click of a button. We strive to support our customers in any way we can, which includes providing great value, with convenient groceries, even on those days when they don’t visit us in store.”
