Payment service provider Clik2pay has announced a new application which allows Shopify stores to offer a direct-from-account payment option to customers.

The first business to use the new app on Shopify is eyewear company Ollie Quinn, which went live with Clik2pay this month. Ollie Quinn and other businesses are now able to offer their customers an option to pay directly from their bank accounts rather than relying on credit cards for online purchases.

When using Clik2pay the money transfer system, Interac e-Transfer™ ensures that payments are completed safely and securely.

Clik2pay is said to be the first in Canada to deliver real-time payments to businesses that are completed directly from the customer’s own bank account.

According to the company, the service offers businesses the opportunity to increase their customer base by opening online payments to millions of Canadians who don’t have credit cards whilst reducing payment processing fees by up to 50 per cent.

“Customers love paying by debit card in-store. Now businesses can give them the same experience online by accepting Clik2pay,” said Mike Bradley, Founder and CEO of Clik2pay.

“Adding the new Clik2pay app to a Shopify store is simple – and gives businesses a smooth, fast, and secure process to enable payment from all customers – not just the ones with credit cards.”
