Payment service provider Clik2pay has developed a plugin for WooCommerce allowing businesses on the platform to enable Clik2pay for their online store.

In a statement announcing the integration, Clik2pay said the deal means WooCommerce users can offer their customers a direct-from-account payment option and begin accepting debit payments with Clik2pay instead of relying on credit cards alone for online payments.

According to Clik2pay, its service enables businesses to increase their customer base by opening online payments to millions of Canadians who don’t have credit cards, whilst reducing payment processing fees by up to 50 per cent. Research data shows that more than 40 per cent of Canadians prefer to pay from their bank account.

“Customers love to pay by debit card in-store, and Clik2pay gives them that same experience online. Businesses benefit because it allows them to reach more customers, and save on processing fees. It’s a win-win,” said Mike Bradley, Founder and CEO of Clik2pay.

Clik2pay features for businesses include easy-to-use APIs, end-to-end payment tracking, real-time notifications, status updates, and a complete settlement file.

Last month, the company revealed several new updates to its payment services platform to allow businesses greater control over their payments. It made upgrades to both its dashboard and the way payment requests are initiated to improve the way businesses track and manage customer payments.
