Travellers with Irish airline Aer Lingus can now use Revolut Pay to book flights online.

In a statement, the airline said it had partnered with the online bank making it the first airline globally to offer one-click checkout with Revolut Pay. It means that customers will be able to book flights in one click on its website or app without the need to input their payment details. They must then approve the payment securely in their Revolut app, which is protected by their passcode or biometric identification.

Susanne Carberry, Aer Lingus Chief Customer Officer said: “At Aer Lingus, we are committed to finding new ways of improving our customer’s experience and this begins when booking. Revolut Pay allows our customers to make payments quickly and securely. Its addition to our app and website is part of our efforts to enhance our booking experience by making it as seamless as possible and it marks another step on our digital transformation journey.”

Alex Codina, GM of Merchant Acquiring at Revolut, added: “We think there is tremendous potential to improve both customer experience and operational efficiency across the travel space, and partnering with a trusted, market leading brand like Aer Lingus is a key step towards further transforming payments in this industry.”

Existing Revolut users can use Revolut Pay and pay via saved cards or directly via their Revolut account balance. Non-Revolut users can either sign up or pay by using saved Mastercard or Visa cards issued by any other provider.
