Global fintech firm Adyen has partnered with Decathlon Hong Kong, enabling the sports goods company to have a single overview of its payment channels and transactions using Adyen’s Unified Commerce solution.
Adyen is the end-to-end payment solution provider for Decathlon Hong Kong’s online store, in-app purchases and its eight physical stores in the city. The retailer will leverage its Unified Commerce solution to deliver flexible checkouts both online and in stores. This includes integrating Adyen’s in-person point of sale (POS) terminals with the sports brand’s POS system to provide quick and stable payment processing at the self-checkouts in the store.
In addition to Apple Pay, Decathlon Hong Kong will also be able to accept further payment methods such as Google Pay, which is launching in late 2024 for online and in-app transactions.
Adyen’s single platform combines the functionalities of a payments processor, gateway, and acquirer allowing Decathlon Hong Kong to work with one single partner for payments across all channels. A key benefit is the ability for the sports brand to have greater control and visibility over its entire payment value chain.
Kent Lam, Head of Technology, Decathlon Hong Kong said, “The partnership with Adyen aligns perfectly with our goal of providing innovation-driven experiences for our local sports community. Working with Adyen as our single provider eliminates the hassle of managing multiple vendors, meaning that we can now direct more effort to elevating the customer journey and being a partner to our customers’ sports needs.”
Kai Tang, Head of Hong Kong, Adyen added, “We are pleased to support Decathlon Hong Kong in their ambitions. Our single platform not only reduces operational complexity but also offer richer customer insights for businesses, and we look forward to helping Hong Kong businesses stay ahead of the game with our payments solutions.”
